Spotlight On: Our Humble Abode
One of our favourite parts of the job is speaking to our customers about their interior styles, and seeing how they incorporate Black Mango pieces into their homes. We recently spoke with Leah from @_our_humble_abode about her home, and were privileged to get a little insider knowledge into where her journey of interiors began.
Leah is situated in lovely Adelaide (may be a little bias, but we love it here!) with her partner & two girls. Her passion for interior design began at a young age, and has stuck with her through all phases of her life so far.
How did you get into Interior Design? Has it always been a passion of yours
Interior design has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, I loved rearranging my room, trying out different setups and decor. But my real journey into interior design began when I got my first home.

That's when I discovered the joy of transforming a space into something that truly felt like mine. I spent hours researching and picking out pieces that reflected my style.
But the defining moment came with our family's latest home build. That's when my true passion for interior design ignited. It was a journey of self-discovery, creativity, and a lot of fun.
From childhood experiments to designing our family home, interior design has always been my artistic outlet.

What is your favourite space in your home? Why?
My favourite space in my home has to be the open living area that combines the kitchen, living, and eating spaces. What I adore most about it is the sense of openness it offers. With a seamless view out to the backyard, it not only feels incredibly spacious but also allows me to enjoy the beauty of nature right from the heart of my home. It's where I can cook, relax, and dine, all while feeling connected to the outside.

Do you have a favourite furniture piece, or something on your wishlist?
I've got my eye on a few furniture pieces that I'm excited about. Right now, I'm really enjoying the new stools from Black Mango; they fit seamlessly into my home's style. On my furniture wishlist, I've set my sights on an outdoor dining table and chairs. I can already picture the wonderful outdoor dinners and sitting there watching the kids play.

When styling a room what is the most important factor for you?
When I'm in the process of styling a room, my top priority is establishing a sense of harmony and warmth. It's all about ensuring that the space feels comfortable and reflects the personality and preferences of the people who will be using it.
