Heather & Sarah, the faces behind Oak and Orange, have over 12 years of experience with designing, building & moving house. Through building their dream homes, they provide so many people with the inspiration and tips to create their own!

Heather has lived in Dream Home 4 for a few years now, and we were so excited when their team reached out about revamping the kids' rooms! We all know it can be a struggle to always be on top of interior trends throughout the home, let alone keeping up with the right aesthetic, favourite colours and ever changing styles of the growing children in our lives.

"Make it playful with decor, bed sheets and colours, not the structure/design of the room... Because let’s be honest, when they’re 13 they’ll grow out of a childish design and want something completely different and changing the structure can be a costly change."

"I like to spice up their rooms with playful linen, artwork, pillows and decor (they can even choose this!) And the best part? When you go to sell your home (if you do) it has fantastic resale potential."


The tween phase can be hard! Heather has revamped her son's bedroom with a size up in bed, and a more mature colour scheme for linen & decor which can be tailored  throughout his teenage years.
